VRF / VRV Systems

Scalable, high-efficiency climate control for commercial buildings. Centralized power with independent zoning.

Commercial Grade Heat Recovery Ready BMS Compatible
Key Features
  • 2-Pipe (Heat Pump) vs 3-Pipe (Recovery)
  • Capacity ranges & zoning
  • Indoor unit variety
  • Controls & integration

What is VRF / VRV?

Variable Refrigerant Flow (or Volume) uses inverter-driven outdoor modules to supply multiple indoor units across long pipe runs.

The system modulates refrigerant flow to match the exact load of each zone, delivering exceptional part-load efficiency compared to traditional chillers or constant-volume systems.

Best For
Offices, hotels, retail, luxury homes
Zones
6 to 64+ indoors per system
Efficiency
High SEER/SCOP ratings

System Types

Heat Pump (2-Pipe)

All zones must be in the same mode (Cooling OR Heating). Simpler piping, lower cost. Ideal for open-plan offices or retail.

Heat Recovery (3-Pipe)

Simultaneous cooling and heating in different rooms. Heat extracted from cooling zones is transferred to heating zones. Maximum efficiency for hotels and mixed-use buildings.

Capacity & Zoning

Outdoor modules can be linked to increase total tonnage.

  • Mini VRF 12–28 kW (6–12 indoors)
  • Mid VRF 28–56 kW (12–32 indoors)
  • Large VRF 56 kW+ (32–64+ indoors)

Piping & Design

  • Max total piping length: up to 1000m (system dependent)
  • Max vertical separation: up to 50m-90m
  • Refnet joints and branch boxes must be sized correctly
